Harbour West Attenuation Wall / Launch Update – May 15, 2018

The City of Hamilton, Kehoe Marine Construction, and Brian Riggs Engineering are still developing an overall strategy for the wave attenuation wall. The wall will stay in place when raised and will remain there until a repair/replacement plan is determined. The extent of the damage will define the next steps in the process.

Kehoe has been using dive bags and barrels to assist in raising the sunken breakwaters. The wave attenuation wall was stuck on the bottom but has now freed up and they have been making steady progress. The report is that the wall will raised before the weekend. Please be respectful of the extensive operations with divers in the water by staying clear and keeping your wake to minimum. Please enter the harbour at the west end (coordinates 43°16’34.75″N 79°52’5.97″W) until further notice.

Kropf is currently on site with the dock repairs ongoing. The James Street finger docks will start to be reinstalled this week. The Iroquois Pier slips will be operational soon after the James Street side is completed. We will be accommodating all vessels on the James Street docks until Kropf has completed all work on the Iroquois Pier Docks.

The floating amenity building with bathrooms and showers are open. Wifi user names and pass words are available at the marina office and gas dock.

We will continue to keep Harbour West website blog updated. If you have any questions, please reach out to Tristen, Lynn, or myself.

Thank You,
