Dock Infrastructure Updates Pt. 2

We wanted to provide a quick update on the West Harbour Redevelopment and City of Hamilton’s construction underway down at the marina.

The pumping station at Pier 8 has passed inspection and the City is preparing to turn it on. Once the station is operational, we will be able to open the washrooms on the east docks for the season. Our team has installed additional air conditioning units in all of our washrooms, which will help keep them extra cool this summer. You may have seen a new floating dock installed on the east side as well, and that will make getting on and off your boat much easier this season.

Next week, June 14-18, the City will start preparations to install the new fuel pumps at HWM. The concrete pads for the new HWM office and gas shack will be poured, and both prefabricated buildings will be installed once the foundation sets. The new fuel pumps will be brought down once the gas shack arrives and is installed.

We have received our new passenger golf cart this past week and have started helping get people to and from the parking lot. Our marina attendants are operating it from 10am to 5:30pm. If you require a ride, please call 905-541-0167 and they will come and pick you up.

Lastly, we will be installing our new goose deterrent devices next week. These will be set around the docks at strategic locations to help reduce the presence of geese on the docks using low-level lasers. It is not harmful to geese, but it does encourage them to find somewhere else to spend their time.

We will continue to provide updates as we get confirmation on dates and accessibility from the City of Hamilton. We can’t wait to get to our new office and join you down on the docks this summer!
